DADS Theatre Company is the brand new name for the long-established ‘Downham Amateur Dramatic Society’ following a major rebrand in 2025.
Downham Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS) was founded in 1947 and have been performing musicals, plays and pantomimes for the people of Downham Market for the past seventy-six years.
After taking a short hiatus in 2023, the society came back with a sparkle working alongside De Silva Theatrical Services Ltd to produce a wonderful evening of Disney magic, at the Town Hall in Downham Market.
With a brand new committee, a fresh perspective and an exciting vision, DADS Theatre Company will continue to produce high quality theatre productions for the next decade and beyond.
Historically, DADS performed up to three full scale productions in each calendar year, entered into ‘One-Act Play’ drama festivals and performed at local events. The society aims to continue to create these productions and will always be looking for new members, both on and off stage, to be part of the society.
In recent years, DADS have been honoured to be nominated for several NODA awards across various categories, going on to win Best Musical for ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (2019), Best Technical for ‘Bakewell Bake Off’ (2017) and Best Play for ‘Bouncers’ (2018).
Over the past year, DADS Theatre Company have performed several full scale productions including
‘Calendar Girls’, ‘Broadway Under The Stars’ and ‘Disney In Concert’.
With more exciting productions in the planning stages, we look forward to welcoming you to our next performance.
